Time is Running Out.

So, next week is my last week of Uni before I go on a damn big break and head back for my second year.
I have to hand in all of my work and needless to say, I am and have been pretty damn busy.
Unfortunately that means I havnt had much time for drawing my own things or even writing stuff on this here site.
So I do apologise for the lack of content from me, but after next week I'll be free as a bird! (for about 3 months)
And I have some pretty cool things I plan to do in my time off!

One thing I have managed to do in this past week is set up a LiveStream account!
I intend to use it quite a lot when I'm working on my own stuff, and so far it has 2 recorded videos uploaded.
One of me working on a drawing I'm yet to finish, and one of me animating the Poor Dino animation that i posted up but a few days ago!

So head over to to have a look!
And if you'd like to watch whenever I end up LiveStreaming, follow me on Twitter!
I'll always post a link when I start!

Poor Dino animation!

So yesterday I made this little animation to try and get a few extra readers for Poor Dino!
For a while now I've been wanting to try and put my usual art style into an animated medium, and this seemed like a good way to see how it would look.

I quite like it I suppose!
Not perfect by any means, but not half bad for the amount of time it took to make it!

Grickle Art Print & New Books!

So, one of my favorite artists/animators, Graham Annable (better known as Grickle) does this thing on Twitter every once in a while where he requests ideas for doodles.
The first time he did it I suggested Cthulhu, and a few minutes later there he was in all his tenticular glory!
It's been my display picture on MSN for months!

A few weeks ago Graham started selling art prints of the doodles, and I just had to buy it!
I've never bought an art print before, but I have often been very tempted.
And this time the temptation was just too strong!

It arrived a little while ago and I decided (though it has taken me a while to do so)
to put a little picture of it up on the blog so everyone will know how great they are!
He wrapped it up very securely so it didn't get damaged at all on its way to me, an
d it arrived remarkably quickly!
He lives somewhere in Canada (I think?) and I'm way over in the UK, and I don't even think it took a week for it to get to me. I've ordered things from Amazon that took longer than that!

He even signed it and did me an awesome little doodle!

For those of you who don't know who Grickle is, I highly recommend you take a look at his YouTube channel and watch some of his amazing animations!

He even has a few books out!
I own one called The Book of Grickle, that is one the very best things to reside on my book shelf!
I'm desperate to get my hands on some more, but they seem pretty hard to get a hold of in England.

In other news!
I have myself quite a few new books to get through!
Its been a while since I last read a graphic novel, so I'm looking forward to really getting my teeth stuck in to one of these.

The Dead Space book is actually a prize I won on a competition hosted by the Sarcastic Gamer UK podcast.
I got it probably a few months ago now, but I haven't got round to reading it yet.
I'll probably write a little about each book as I finish reading them.

That's all for now!
I might make a post tomorrow, about a little thing I've been working on with my time off.
Look forward to that!

In loads of sci-fi films and books, there's this recurring thing that always irks me.

Chances are, if your reading a Sci-fi, it involves holographic screens.

Every Sci-fi has them.

Now just think of how many times
you've heard/read, "Hey Dave, what that on your Holo-screen?"
or "Quick! Pull up the schematics on the Holo-screen!" or anything involving "Holo-Screen".

This always really annoys me, because chances are when we have holo-screens, we won't call them holo-screen's.
We'll just call them, screen's.

Whenever a new technology comes out that is an update on something we already have, a new way of building TV's for example.

"I just got me a new plasma-screen TV!"
"I just bought a flat-screen TV!"
"Have you seen those new LCD TV's?"

How often when your sat at home and you feel like watching TV do you say to whoever is with you, "Hey, fancy watching something something on the flat-screen TV?"

Or how about, "Hey, will you turn the volume up on the HD ready television?".

You don't.
Nobody says that.

TV is all we need.

And that's why when I inevitably write and publish a massively successful Sci-fi book that gets me billions and I never ever have to work ever again, a character will never, ever, not even once refer to a screen, as a holo-screen.

Except maybe if there extremely old.

"Gee'z Gramp's, nobody calls them holo-screens any more! Get with the times!"
"You young whipper-snappers! I remember back in my day, when screens were made of glass! And if you threw things at them, they broke and we had to buy a new one!"

Poor Dino #4!

It's Thursday, and so here is a brand new lovely Poor Dino!
But what does this mean?
A whole week to wait until you can lay your eyes upon another new episode in the life of the Dino!
What distress this news must befall upon you.

Oh dear.

Poor Dino #3

Here's Poor Dino #3!
The next one will be popping up on Thursday, after that you'll have to wait an entire week for the next one!
Hopefully you love it, and it will be worth the wait!

God of War

I've been playing a lot of God of War lately.
I finally got my hands on Chain's of Olympus, the first of the two PSP titles in the series.
It really is incredibly well transfered to the psp.
The game-play is almost identical to the main games, and it looks pretty damn good too, though thats pretty much to be expected in a God of War game.

My sisters fiancée Andy lent me God of War 3 just the other day as well, and though I haven't played much of it so far, the little I have played I have loved!

The graphics are freakin' amazing!
The art direction for the game is astounding!
The opening is quite possibly one of the greatest starts to a game I have ever experienced.
I'd really like a chance to just sit and have a long play session with it, but with the hand in date for my year 1 work closing in, that probably wouldn't be such a bright idea.

One thing I have stumbled upon in my browsing's however is this:
One of my most prized possessions is The Art of Oddworld Inhabbitants.
A book by Ballistic publishing full of beautiful art and packed with behind-the-scene's info on one of my favorite game studios of all time.

Turns out Ballistic have also made art books for a few other games, one of which is God of War 3!
At first look, they were pretty damn expensive (over £50!) but turns out you can get it on Amazon right now for just under £35!
Im so very, very tempted by this.

They also have an Uncharted 2 art book that I'm sure would be bloody amazing, but God of War has the Greek mythology thing going for it.

I'm going to try and hold out until I have a little more money before I give in to temptation.
We'll see how that goes...

Poor Dino #2! (and cover)

Poor Dino #2 is here for your viewing pleasure!
I was hoping to get 2 and 3 out over the weekend, but turns out my dads scanner wasn't working at the time so I had to wait to get back home again before I could work on them.
No #3 right now, but it will definitely be here for you tomorrow!
Had Uni today, and I've been doing a lot of updates to the blog and Caramel Marshmallow, so didn't really have time to get them both finished.

I have however, got this little doo-hicky made.Just a little cover of sorts to go along with the rest of the comic.

I'm still not really 100% certain on where I'm going to be uploading these, but for now I suppose you can just keep an eye on this blog, the CM DeviantArt or my Flickr account!

See you tomorrow!
